On the eve of the launch of what could easily be the biggest PS3 title yet, Metal Gear Solid 4, it would be as good a time as any to check out some of the best titles that the stealth action genre has to offer. In anticipation of Metal Gear Solid 4, here are my top 10 stealth games:

 

Tenchu Stealth Assassins
A game that truly let you play as a ninja under the cover of night, Tenchu was a fantastic stealth action title.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence
This game brought sneaking back into the Cold War, offering some great new gameplay elements and paving the way for great things.
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell
The first true title to give Konami’s Metal Gear Solid franchise a run for its money, Splinter Cell introduced gaming to Sam Fisher and his myriad real-world technological gadgets.
